Absolutely no doubt, Panasonic DMC-TZ5 is a better option. Packages with this excellent Leica, 10x zoom compact everything in your body. I would in any case for Panasonic. Panasonic DMC TZ5 natural rival would go Canon SX100 IS, and support from Panasonic. If you prefer a super-zoom camera that you have many ways, the Olympus SP 570 (20-times zoom to choose), Canon S5 IS (12X zoom), the new Sony DSC-H50 (15x zoom) and Panasonic DMC FZ18 (18x zoom). Personally, I have Sony DSC-H7 and I'm not happy. Barrel distortion seems to be a fairly serious problem with the latest Sony cameras. Also in this super-category two, in my opinion, it deserves a closer Panasonic DMC FZ18 and Canon S5 IS Zoom.
